The season responds to themes migration and the how the UK came to its current course - to explore people’s changing relationship with their history and the countries impact on peoples lives. From portmanteau tales of UK life detailed in
The Uncertain Kingdom
to tales of racism overcome through music as discussed in White Riot.
We want to explore tales of change and lessons learned for future generations.

We Are Migrant ultimately aims to inspire, provoke and challenge audiences with our electric mix of outstanding documentaries, great archive heritage, visionary features and wrap around events that help audience’s engage with the core theme of our ever changing history.

Our project is to curate a dynamic, relevant season of screening that attracts and challenges audiences to talk, engage and interact over film and develop awareness of the histories of people and society and foster stronger links between the public film archive and exhibition sectors and its after affects.

Our season aims to encourage audiences is to attend our season through a combination of challenging new features, classic relevant features and complimentary archive that is specifically relevant to the region.
Supported by the BFI - and partnering with Midlands Art Centre we aim to engage audiences through the love of film, stimulating debate regards new directions and a desire to challenge perceptions.
